Just Sit There, Wednesday 7pm

We decided to practice totally in silence.  
I rang the bell and we did our own thing for 20 minutes.
I rang the bell again and we took 5 minutes to get settled for sitting.
I range the bell and we sat for 38 minutes.
I rang the bell and we laid in savasana for 8 minutes.
I rang the bell and we sat and quietly OM'd.

So totally sweet.

Similar patterning with balance as the focus.  I thought we might be moving towards Vashistasana Variations but seemed like it would be too much for more than half the peeps, so we did not.  A little on Sutra 1.1 and Sutra 1.2 and Sutra 1.12.  But slightly flat, cuz E and I had an argument right before class and I have not honed my inner Duck skills to shake it all out immediately.

It's been hot in Ojai so we have been doing balance postures and easy inversions, leaving out the heating vinaysas.

We were an intimate enough group to get a little geeky about shoulder stand which had come up as a question last week. I almost never teach formal shoulder stand but prefer the more casual version of candlestick.

Today was the first class of our 6 Week Summer Yoga Session for Help of Ojai.  
Alana and I are co-teaching.  We decided to alternate and assist each other.   This first class was designed to start to establish some anatomical language and cuing and get to know the peeps. While there were many regulars, there were also lots of new peeps.  This is one of my favorite classes.  We had so much fun.
